Music Enterprises Corp. is Durham's Family Music Store; Where Service is #1
and learning is always fun. Coming from a musical background, owners Jim
and Debbie Broomer opened Legend Music in the Fall of 1996 with the intent
of building a music store that would offer an alternative shopping and
learning environment for their friends, family and neighbours. Legend Music
Enterprises Corp. would and has lived up to its reputation of providing top
quality service, expert repairs, and an environment that not only fosters
learning but also makes it fun.

At Legend Music we pride ourselves on top quality service. Our staff and
teachers are dedicated professionals who know the value of each individual
customer. They are always available to share their product knowledge and
expertise. Legend Music periodically sponsors free music clinics and
product give-a-ways for our customers. If we've made a mistake we'll
correct it. We make the experience of dealing with Legend Music as easy and

Learning
is Always Fun:
The unique personality of our teachers and their background create a
relaxed but structured atmosphere at Legend Music, where learning is always
fun. This helps to explain why we have
almost a 0% turnover of teachers.
Our
teachers develop individual learning programs designed to meet the needs
and learning ability of each student. Actively involved in the music
industry our teachers bring their enthusiasm for music to their students,
creating an environment that not only fosters learning but also makes it
always fun.
The
Legend Music Rock School Live event is an exciting new program open to
Legend Music students. The show offers an opportunity for our
students to perform with a professional band bi-monthly. As many as
30 students from across Durham will perform on stage with Roadhouse, a classic
rock and R&B band. Some student bands will also perform.

Our
music teachers are dedicated qualified professionals who are actively
involved in the music industry. As playing musicians, they enhance their
teaching skills by being plugged-into the latest trends in the music world.
Quarterly
progress report cards are prepared for each student outlining achievement
expectations, learning skills effort rating scale, and the student's
strengths, weaknesses and next steps recommendations.
Learning
to read music is a number one priority with Legend Music and our teachers.
For some students studying theory is a quick means to losing interest, so,
on occasion lessons are dedicated to learning a song from a student's
favourite CD.
Parents
are encouraged to meet the teachers and our teachers are always receptive
to any questions put forward.
